The First Presbyterian Church of Port Angeles is a community of people of all ages who believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and who seek to follow His teachings. We come together to worship God, to grow in our love and support for each other, and to learn about God's will for our lives. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we go out to the community and world to share our faith and to serve others.
The church celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2014. FPCPA has occupied several different buildings in Port Angeles and it is in its present location since 1954. Over the years, the present building has had several additions and building projects, the latest was an expansion of the fellowship hall, kitchen, and addition of entry ramps that have allowed us to minister to the community. We are in a delightful period in our church's life, living out our mission in many ways. A renewed commitment to serve the community has enabled us to invite over sixty community groups to use our expanded facility at little or no cost.
We are in our sixth year of providing volunteer tutors to local schools. In the 2012-2013 academic year, twenty-seven people from our congregation worked directly with students in classrooms at least weekly. That amounts to over 1,000 volunteer hours, making a huge difference in these students' academic progress.
